Edit and Delete Account

How to edit account details, add or update values, and delete an account.

You can edit an account’s details, add or update its value history, or delete the account from the account detail sheet.

Opening Account Detail

  • From the Dashboard — click an account in the Accounts card.
  • From the Accounts page (or a type-specific page like Accounts → Investments) — click an account row.

The account detail sheet opens: name, type, current value, value history chart, and actions (Edit, Add value, Delete).

Edit Account

  1. In the account detail sheet, use Edit (or the edit action).
  2. The Edit Account dialog opens. Change:
    • Account name
    • Account type and subtype (if applicable)
    • Balance or value (for manual accounts)
    • For holdings (e.g. stocks): share quantity, average purchase price, and other holding fields as shown.
  3. Click Save to apply. The sheet and any tables or charts will refresh.

Add or Update Value

For manual accounts (and where supported), you can record a new balance or value on a date:

  1. In the account detail sheet, use Add value (or Update value).
  2. Enter the amount and the date.
  3. Save. The value is added to the account’s history and used in net worth and charts.

Delete Account

  1. In the account detail sheet, use Delete (e.g. from the actions menu or dropdown).
  2. The Delete confirmation dialog appears. Confirm that you want to permanently remove the account.
  3. After you confirm, the account and its value history are deleted.

Important: Deletion cannot be undone. If you might need a record of the balance, export your accounts or note the figures before deleting.
